I stayed at this hotel for a night before moving in to my long term hotel for my exchange program at Fudan University. The Jinjiang Inn is just across the street from the North End of Chifeng Road Station, and it does have some cheap restaurants nearby that provide decent quality meals. The check in process was relatively straightforward, though I should warn that if you have names in different languages, that you ensure that you inform them of which name you made the registration under. I stayed in one of their Business Suites and while they do have a very wide bed, it's not particularly comfortable if you do not like hard mattresses, but I was still able to catch some sleep. I would most of the rooms on the higher floors face the Line 3 Metro Viaduct, so you may experience some train noise, though it's not too bad and can definitely be dealt with by getting yourself a cheap pair of ear plugs. The room itself is very clean, they use wooden flooring as opposed to carpets, and the rooms are very well lit (something I can't exactly say for a lot of hotels in this country). This hotel does provide WiFi, and it's fast enough that you won't need to use the ethernet port that they've also provided. Bathrooms are clean, though they could definitely do with some remodeling. The showering has no illumination, so I had to leave the curtains slightly open so that it wasn't too dark. The toilet is a tad small, but it works well enough. The bathrooms feature dual valve faucets (i.e. you twist two different knobs to control temperature and water flow), and I must warn you that "Righty tighty, lefties loosies" Does not necessarily apply here. If you twist the faucet anticlockwise, there's a chance that you're actually unfastening the faucet, which may cause a pretty sloppy splash. Aside from that, this is a good hotel. A chair for the desk as well as a cupboard would be nice, but then again, for what you're paying, this place is already a fantastic value for money.

Stayed there for five weeks on an exchange, along with about 15 other students and a lecturer. Great place, eventually felt like home. Very close to the SISU campus and even closer to the Chifeng Road metro station (Line 3) which is only one stop away from a big mall (Hongkou Plaza). Great area, with lots of places to eat and little shops to check out. The service was fine and the staff were friendly, even though there were some communication problems.
