I stayed here for 2 nights with my kids. The room was very spacious with a desk & a chair and a lounge sofa. 1 full size bed and 1 twin bed. There was a balcony and the view was amazing. I had a view of the ocean, pool and also the mountain area. The air was so fresh and crisp and I just wanted to stay there to breathe in good air. The hotel was clean and the room was clean too. Lobby area was beautiful with so many koi fish and my kids loved it so much. The breakfast was fantastic. Some menu changed daily but overall everything tasted really good. Some might say it's bland but unlike other Korean food, it wasn't salty with overpowering taste. Everything was very good and I enjoyed the breakfast so much. Outside there was a walking trail and the picture came out so nice in a pastel tone early in the morning having ocean as a background. Jeju island is a beautiful place and The Shore was a great hotel where I would definitely want to come back again.

As soon as I entered the hotel, there was a large palm tree and a pond in the lobby, and I was surprised by the fresh interior. But it was a little uncomfortable because there wasn't much room to sit down while waiting to check in in the lobby. The next day, the breakfast was so delicious and the menu was various, so it was good to have a good breakfast. And if you go outside, there's a promenade, so it's good to have breakfast and take a walk. The landscaping is so beautiful~~ The swimming pool is very nice, so it's not dirty.

First, we really enjoyed the hotel. You can tell it is an older built hotel with the open lobby/atrium which I think is pretty cool. You can look down from the top floor and see the lobby on the inside! However, I am a fan of controlling the things you can control, like cleanliness, which is why I gave this a 4 out of 5 stars. Pros: -Directly on the beach which is awesome. The view here is top-notch! -The room we got (ocean view on a "corner") was very spacious. -We were able to sleep with the balcony door open and hear the waves at night! -The balcony is massive and had incredible views. Sunrise is impressive. -The hospitality here was awesome and was always greeted with a smile. -The lobby, while it looks busy, is kind of nice. Lots of random seating with the pond in the middle. -Close to the cliff which is a cool spot to hang out at. -The shower pressure was awesome! -beds were comfy and comforter was warm and clean. Cons: -The hotel in general needs a deep cleaning. Some areas are showing age and some were just dirty -The bathroom needs a good cleaning too... the "soap scum" on the shower door was not a nice look -Some furniture was broken or nearly broken in our room -Odd layout of the corner rooms... with the space more things can be done in the room but it looks like they put the same thing in every room. -Food was okay in the hotel but you pay resort prices. Overall, we would stay here again happily. However, I would love to see the hotel begin recrafting their brand and who they are targetting. With Lotte and Shilla next door, the "luxury" travelers will not choose this hotel over those brands. Take advantage of the awesome view and try and do something with the random pathway on the ocean... Perhaps a bar (like the cliff) or an improved outdoor pool would be an awesome upgrade! This hotel should try and rebrand away from "The old Hyatt" to "The Shore" which caters to a younger, hip crowd. Let the families stay at Lotte and Shilla, otherwise, I fear this hotel will change owners or go under...

A strange hotel. I guess we were a little off-season but the weather was still really warm and sunny, however the main pool had been drained. The most bizarre thing we found was the prices of drinks at the hotel’s feature lobby bar so expensive that no guests bothered drinking there (seriously London or Tokyo five star hotel prices). The room was vast and clean, if a little dated but good value compared to other similar hotels in the area.
